Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area enables you to visit several different parks in one spot and at the same time have a whole lot of open spaces that have been preserved perfectly. The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area was put together in the year 1978 and since that it has been a favorite travel destination for holiday makers. The place has been preserved excellently and that is one of the draws of it. The open spaces that you will get here, the kind of wildlife and plants along with the different kinds of activities that you can pursue out here will enable you to enjoy a fabulous holiday in this so very unique area. The Backbone Trail System in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is the most renowned and opted for as it runs really long up the length of the park. There are several main entrances through which you can enter the park which are from Woodland Hills, Malibu, Topanga, Newbury Park or Aguara Hills. There are no vehicles allowed inside the park. This is the place that you will always find something or the other happening. The mountains and the shoreline are being protected by the people and government agencies working closely together.
You must take yourself to the Satwiwa Nature American Indian Culture Center as this is the place that hosts a whole lot of cultural programs. You can even opt to attend workshops that are held here.
